I am always glad, when somebody hits me up via any possible way to share his music with me. Thats exactly what happened last week with MRC Riddims. The two Berlin/NYC based guys hoooked me up with their deep, dirty sounding mix of  hip hop, dirty south, garage and dubstep. fuck it! that is some versatile shit. and you get two tracks for free.

last night i got the information, that statix is confirmed for the frequenzeinlauf in december. it is still a long time until then, but so you can check them out already. i first heard of them, when i was listening to mary anne hobbs radio1 show. their huge, powerful set made me go crazy while having the third beer of the night, right before leaving the house for party – but i could not leave and had to stay, the bass glued me on to the seats. i wanted to know, who this guy  is (i thought it is only one producer) or where i can get them bloody tunes. i hit statix up via myspace and was able to get them interested into playing in germany. 5 people, yeah thats right: f-i-v-e, rockin one club, that is how it’s gonna be. i am really glad, to have them guys coming over to our small festival, because pretty sure, they are about to achieve a big name for themselves within the next months…

after seeing rusko at the icon in berlin a couple of weeks ago, i stumbled over his exclusive fenchurch mix. i did not have to time to listen to it, thats why i didn’t want to share that info yet. well, i had to make sure, that this mix is worth posting. but oh my. gosh! it is worth posting. that is rusko. that crazy son of a bitch was sick, while performing in berlin. i mean sick in terms of ill… while the crowd was moshing itself almost to death, rusko went through a little vomit adventure behind the decks, but still kept everybody rockin. he is big. big. big. so is the mix. by clicking the link below, you should get what you want.

due the fact that my dad got a year older last weekend i left berlin for travelling back to good old karl-marx-stadt. i had a great time there and want to point out two higlights.
the first would be, that i saw my old band of quiet walls playing again – and i have to admit that these guys are totally insane, great, sick, creative, awesome – whatsoever. it was an intense show in a small rehearsal basement and they just rocked. i hope they get done recording pretty soon.
besides all that they showed me something really special: to me they made a clear point on why they are playing music together. just seeing them play, shows you, how great the connection between those guys is. they are all true friends. they trust each other. and on top of this, they let the audience feel, that there is a special connection between every member of the band.
but that was not the only highlight.
at the same show, there were these swedish (and the one norwegian) guys. digression assassins is what they call themselves. and they played some really intense hardcore, metal, math – you name it. they were putting up an insane show, with just three people. one singer, one drummer and one guy playing a pretty amped up guitar. noise, tightness, professionalism, pure aggression and perfectionism combined in just three people. my balls got a bit bigger that night. we had a nice chat after the concert and i met them guys in berlin last night. just wanted to shout their names out loud and recommend to any of you readers, to try to catch them at a show.
